  • Nextcloud Branding Assets Requirements

    These are the resources Nextcloud requires in order to be able to deliver branded clients. The icons need to be reflecting your brand and must not contain our trademark (Nextcloud) or our logo, also not as part of a logo or in a modified way. You can use your Company name with "Cloud", e.g. "Example Cloud", but not "Example Nextcloud".

    General attributes

    Files Application name

    • default: Nextcloud
    • maximum (due to iOS limitation): 30 chars
    • ideal for display: 18 chars

    Talk Application name

    • default: Nextcloud Talk
    • maximum (due to iOS limitation): 30 chars
    • ideal for display: 18 chars

    Domain

    • needed for app id on Android/iOS, config value on Desktop to avoid conflicts
    • default: not visible for user and any domain can be entered by user

    Enforce domain

    • when enabled user cannot enter the URL of the server, but only is prompted for the login credentials

    Multi account

    • by default multi account is disabled, so that the Desktop/Android/iOS apps can have only one account. For some special use cases it might be needed to have multi account.

    Brand color

    • default: #0082c9

    Brand font color

    • will be used for text displayed on top of the brand color
    • default: #ffffff

    Help URL

    Privacy URL

    Push Proxy URL (required for Talk)

    • url where your own Push Proxy is located

    Additional requirements for the Desktop clients

    Header logo

    • SVG format: no exact size needed , but should be roughly 266 × 126 pixel ± 10%

    Application logo

    • SVG, square

    Offline logo

    • Icon is required to identify app when no account is yet set up
    • SVG, square

    Sidebar logo (for macOS)

    • Icon is required to be shown in sidebar of Finder
    • needs to have transparent background
    • preferred to be white, monochrome
    • SVG square

    Enforce Virtual Files option (Windows only)

    • if enabled, client only uses Virtual Files feature and does not sync entire data
    • cannot be disabled from user

    Additional requirements for the Android Files client

    Application logo

    • Used in app launcher.
    • Two files are expected, one for the background, one for the foreground.
    • Files are expected in vector format (svg, psd)
    • For Nextcloud, the foreground are only the three white circles, while the background is the blue color with little squares

    Logo for login page / startup logo

    • shown on first start when entering server address (not visible if "enforce domain" is set)
    • shown on app startup
    • SVG, no exact size needed, but should be roughly 300 × 143 pixel ± 10%

    Notification logo

    • used for push notifications, uploads and downloads
    • needs to have transparent background
    • preferred to be white, monochrome
    • SVG

    Push notification (optional - currently in testing phase)

    • download google-services.json from Android app in your Firebase project

    Additional requirements for the iOS Files client

    Application logo

    • used in app launcher
    • appears on login page of the app and as application logo
    • no transparent background allowed, use a solid background color
    • SVG, square

    • shown on app startup
    • can have transparent background

    Push notification (optional - currently in testing phase)

    • download GoogleService-Info.plist from iOS app in your Firebase project

    Additional requirements for the Android Talk client

    Application logo (needs to be different than Android Files)

    • Used in app launcher.
    • Two files are expected, one for the background, one for the foreground.
    • Files are expected in vector format (svg, psd)
    • For Nextcloud, the foreground is only the bubble, while the background is the blue color with little squares

    • used in native call screen (CallKit)

    Updater site (optional)

    Optionally, Nextcloud can host an updater site for you, which you can give to your users, so that they can retrieve all your branded clients. To enhance this, you can optional modify header image and add a footer image. There is no exact size needed, but it should not be more than 800px width.


    Additional services

    For an additional fee, Nextcloud can create the required icon sizes out of a single SVG file (I.e. for the desktop state icons or the application logos).
