Nextcloud Talk Phone - Introduction, Sip-Bridge, dail-in & dail-out
Nextcloud Talk (browser, desktop app, mobile apps) and landline/mobile phones can interact in the following ways.
Prerequisites
- Have a SIP gateway available
- Set up SIP-bridge following this documentation
Meeting Dial-in
Functionality: From a phone, call a phone number to join a Talk call.
If the administrator set it up for the instance, and a moderator of a Talk conversation activated it (Conversation settings -> Meeting -> Phone and SIP-dail-in), you will see in the right sidebar, in the Details tab, something like this:
Dial-in information

Meeting ID: 123 456 7890
Your PIN: 123 4567
Meeting Dial-out
Functionality: From an existing Talk conversation, call a phone number.
If the administrator set it up for the instance, you can call a phone number from a Talk conversation:
- open the right sidebar "participants" and type the phone number you want to call, click "Add phone number"
- start the call
Direct Dial-out/Call a phone number
Functionality: From Talk, call a phone number.
In the top left corner, click on the speech bubble and select "Call a phone number". Or on the home screen, click on the button "Call a phone number" at the top. After the call, you will be asked whether to keep or delete the conversation.
Direct Dial-in
Functionality: From a phone, call a phone number, the Talk client (web/desktop/mobile) of a Nextcloud user will ring.
