To manage a Global Contact List, that allows your users to find other users or external contacts more easily to share and collaborate with them, proceed as follow:

    1. From the app menu, enable the Contacts app
    2. From the user menu, Create a system user
    3. In not existing, create a group "Global Address Book" containing all users you want to share that "Global Contact List" address book with
    4. Log in with that system user
    5. Go to the Contact app
    6. From the settings (bottom left corner) > Create a new address book "Global Contact List"
    7. From the settings, import contacts from a file, into that newly created address book
    8. From the settings, click on the sharing icon next to the "Global Contact List" address book
    9. Share with the group "Global Address Book"
    10. That's it !

    Additional considerations

You can allow users to edit the address book. Then, they can add, update or remove contacts. Another option is for example to export a list of contact from the LDAP, and import it. Then it can be updated from time to time, to make sure that it stays up-to-date.
